The OPSS will by now know that research commissioned by the Fire Brigades Union shows that UK firefighters are getting cancers at 1.6 the normal rate and this is down the toxicity of home fires, much of which is provided by the high levels of flame retardants in our sofas/mattresses, there to prevent fires/spread even though the government has proved that neither flame retardants nor the regs even work.
So, they knowingly are adding to firefighters' cancers and keeping literally millions of children at risk of FR poisoning in their own beds. How do they live with themselves? I've no idea other than I suspect they practice on themselves a kind of intentionally muffled thinking: believe that they are trying to improve the regulations but cannot change anything until they are absolutely certain the changes will be safe and effective. This despite the fact they did exactly that in 2014 but allowed themselves to be corrupted by big business.
